Shopping spree provides fun and community funds

Two minutes. 120 seconds. It goes by fast.

Just ask Terri Brooks of Brookville who substituted for her mother, Dona Mowry, who won the Kappa Xi chapter of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority’s two-minute shopping spree at McMaken’s IGA raffle.

“That was fun but it went faster than I thought,” said a winded Brooks, after pushing a shopping cart down the grocery aisles and tossing in as many items as she could last Saturday.

“I wanted to get some steaks but I forgot,” Brooks apologized to her mother.

“That’s alright,” said Mowry, as McMaken’s IGA store manager Barry Chmiel helped them still check out $256.71 of free groceries.more...
