Northmont area police reports

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Saturday, July 25

Clay Township

Report 15-1784-07: Police stopped a 2001 Chevy Impala for having an expired registration. A passenger in the vehicle was found to be a wanted subject. Maryann C. Green, 25, of New Lebanon, was arrested on a warrant issued by Area One Court. Two juvenile females were turned over to family members that responded to the arrest scene. Green was transported to the county jail.

Thursday, Aug. 6

City of Clayton

Report 15-1497: Police responded to Dollar General, 8126 N. Main St., on an attempted aggravated robbery. A cash advised that a black male subject, approximately 6-feet, 3-inches tall and weighing about 250 pounds wearing a bright orange hoodie with a lime green work vest with the words “Lead to Safety” on the back, blue jeans and brown boots entered the store and approached cash register. He asked if the store did cash back on receipts and handed the cashier a receipt. The male put his hands in his pockets and told the cashier he didn’t want to shoot him and to give him all of the money. The cashier tried to stall the male, opened the cash drawer and immediately shut it and moved away from the counter. He then told the other customers that the man had a gun. The male stated he wasn’t going to shoot anyone and then walked out of the store. Police canvassed the area for the suspect but could not locate him.

Report 15-1500: Police responded to the 7800 block of Volk Drive on the report of a suspicious subject that attempted to steal a tire. The suspect was described as a tall white male wearing a white shirt, blue track style pants and a 1950s style parted haircut. The reporting party also said the male was bleeding from the arm. Police located a subject that loosely fit the description near the intersection of Thelma and Inwood, but determined the subject was not the correct person. An update came through dispatch that the subject was on Northland Court. Police responded and located the suspect who fit the description perfectly. Zachary A. Kingham, 23, of Englewood, was arrested on a warrant, taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Monday, Aug. 10

City of Englewood

Report 15-043038: While parked in the lot of Jiffy Lube an officer heard a loud scraping noise and observed a gray pickup truck drive over a curb an into the grass easement. The truck nearly crashed but drove back onto the roadway and continued north on Main Street. The officer followed the truck and observed it weave heavily within its lane of travel. A traffics stop was initiated. After failing a series of field sobriety tests, Gregory T. Colvin, 26, of Dayton 45404, was charged with driving while under the influence, failure to maintain reasonable control and possession of drugs. He was issued a court summons and released to a sober driver.

Report 15-043137: Police responded to Wal-Mart on the report of a theft in progress. The suspect fled the store, entered a vehicle and fled east on Interstate 70. Police stopped the vehicle on I-70. Christian M. Smith, 22, at large, was charged with theft, taken into custody and transported to the county jail. A passenger in the vehicle, Alexandria C. Smith, 19, at large, was arrested on a warrant issued by West Carrollton. She was also transported to the county jail.

Report 15-043167: Malcolm C. Leybourne, 45, of Trotwood, was charged with assault. He was issued a court summons.

Report 15-043213: Adriana Nicole Mae Frizell, 21, of New Lebanon, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. She was transported to the county jail.

Tuesday, Aug. 11

City of Englewood

Report 15-043376: Chelsea N. Green, 18, of Englewood, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. She was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

Wednesday, Aug. 12

City of Englewood

Report 15-043446: A 17-year-old female was charged with being unruly on Lofton Drive.

Report 15-043535: An unknown white male driving a white four door sedan removed a concrete saw out of the bed of a work truck near the construction area at Meijer. The suspect fled the parking lot and headed north on Main Street.

Report 15-043568: Police responded to the Villas of Englewood on the report of the theft of medication. Glenn R. Hardin, 34, of Fairborn, was charged with theft without consent and transported to the county jail.

Thursday, Aug 13

City of Englewood

Report 15-043783: A citizen dropped off a turquoise, bi-fold duct tape wallet at the police department that was found at Wal-Mart. The wallet contained an Ohio driver’s license; a Sinclair Titan Card and Dayton Metro Library card all belonging to the owner of the wallet. The owner responded to the police department to pick up her wallet and discovered $25 in cash and credit card belonging to her father had been stolen from the wallet. She stated she believed she had left the wallet in the restroom when shopping there earlier.

Report 15-043784: Police responded to the Englewood Inn on the report of an assault taking place. Police located the suspect vehicle on Interstate 70 and made an arrest. Jonathan W. Thompson, 25, of Vidor, Texas, was charged with assault and unlawful restraint. Police located his girlfriend at the hotel with bruising around both eyes. She stated Thompson had hit her in the face and had choked her. She also had bruises and scrapes on her back, arms, legs and neck. Thompson was transported to the county jail. Vandalia Police assisted with this case.

Sunday, Aug. 16

City of Englewood

Report 15-044247: Police responded to the 600 block of W. Wenger Road on the report of a white male subject breaking into vehicles that was now surrounded by people. The male had entered an apartment and took an ice cream sandwich out of the freezer. The female resident, who was asleep on the couch, woke up and asked the male who he was and he mumbled something back. He refused to leave so the female exited the apartment out her back door and called her boyfriend. The boyfriend showed up with a friend and they removed the male from the apartment. The male then entered a vehicle and the female called police. Bradley R. Smith, 56, of Englewood, was charged with criminal trespass. He was transported to the county jail.

Report 15-044329: Joseph Adams III, 53, of Dayton 45406, was charged with theft at Wal-Mart. He was transported to the county jail.
