CLAYTON — The community is invited to a performance by the southern gospel group The Townesmen and Meagan at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 at Salem Church of God. The event is free, and no tickets are required.

The Townesmen have been in existence for 50 years. Today, the group is comprised of Brandon Pelfrey, of Winchester, KY, who sings tenor and plays piano; Ben Liston, who sings lead and is worship pastor at Tytus Avenue First Church of God in Middletown; Jeff Alliston, who sings bass and is worship director at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hamilton; Mitch Burch, who sings baritone and is lead pastor at Towne Boulevard Church of God in Middletown; and his daughter Meagan (Burch) Flores, an adjunct professor of worship arts at Mid-America Christian University in Muncie, IN, who joins the Townesmen on selected dates since the death earlier this year of her mother, Shelly, who was a member of the group.

The performance is hosted by the Salem Church of God Trailblazers.
