Police reports from Northmont area police departments

The following information has been provided by Northmont area police departments. The information listed in this column is considered public record and is available to anyone seeking information concerning what is provided below.

For purposes of this column, the term “arrested” or “charged” does not necessarily mean the person was taken into physical custody. It could also indicate that a summons was issued to the subject in lieu of physical custody.

All the people listed as “arrested” or “charged” are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Saturday, Dec. 19

Clay Township

Report 15-3116-12: During a traffic stop for a marked lanes violation police discovered the driver was a wanted subject. Joshua D. Wright, 32, of Sunman, IN was arrested on a felony warrant for forgery. A box containing ten pages of copies of counterfeit twenty dollar bills, and colored pencils, a paper engraver, razor blades, eraser and other art supplies. Wright was also charged with forgery and possessing criminal tools. He was transported to the county jail.

Monday, Dec. 21

City of Englewood

Report 15-070051: A 10-year-old female was charged with being unruly after she injured her11-year-old brother. The father reported that while in the family vehicle at Wal-Mart the pair began arguing over Crayons. She became upset when her brother would not give her the Crayons. She began kicking him during the ride home. Police observed several red marks on the victim’s arms, face, neck and chest. Englewood EMS personnel checked the victim for injuries but he was not transported to the hospital. The girl admitted to injuring her brother. Charges were forwarded to Montgomery County Juvenile Court.

Clay Township

Report 15-3126-12: Burglary was reported in the 11200 block of Hartman Rd. The resident reported that between January 1 and June 1 that she discovered several pieces of jewelry were missing from the residence. She stated that several gatherings had been held at her home and that several repair and cleaning personnel had also been in the residence during that time period. Due to the lime lapse from when the jewelry turned up missing and the report date, police advised that the probability of identifying a suspect was extremely poor.

Report 15-3127-12: A married couple came to the Clay Township Police Department to report that their grandson had stolen a gold tennis bracelet and a handgun from them. Through an investigation police discovered the grandson had sold the tennis bracelet to Cashland in Vandalia. A law enforcement hold was placed on the bracelet so that the victims could go to the business to identify it as theirs. The victims positively identified the bracelet and paid to retrieve it.

Tuesday, Dec. 22

City of Englewood

Report 15-070285: Duane E. Taylor, 42, of Englewood, was charged with animal restraint for having a barking dog. Taylor had previously been issued three prior warnings for a barking dog. Charges were forwarded to Vandalia Municipal Court.

Wednesday, Dec. 23

City of Englewood

Report 15-070397: An unknown subject damaged four pop machines at Wal-Mart. All four were damaged by a pry tool. One machine was successfully opened and paper bills and coins removed. Total loss was set at $100.

Report 15-070438: Unknown subjects entered a vehicle via a missing rear tailgate window parked in the Wal-Mart lot and removed the stereo from the dashboard.

Thursday, Dec. 24

City of Englewood

Report 15-070577: An unknown white male wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and a gray Ohio State hat entered Tractor Supply, took a chainsaw and fled the parking lot in a black 4-door Chevrolet Cavalier.

Saturday, Dec. 26

City of Englewood

Report 15-070776: Police pulled over two vehicles on Union Road for drag racing. The officer observed a white BMW and black BMW traveling south at a high rate of speed. One of the BMWs was clocked at 104 miles per hour. The officer was able to get both vehicles to pull over just south of Old Salem Road. The officer ordered the driver of the white BMW to turn off the ignition and to drop his keys onto the ground, which he complied to. A second officer arrived to lend assistance. Dispatch advised the driver of the white BMW had warrant for his arrest. Ryan L. Dawson, 20, of Dayton 45417, was arrested on a warrant issued by Trotwood Police for failure to appear in court for a red light violation. He was also charged with speeding and drag racing. Dawson was transported to the county jail. The driver of the black BMW, Silas E. White, 19, of Dayton 45402, was charged with speeding and drag racing. He was issued a court summons and released.

Report 15-070885: Unknown subjects slashed all four tires on a vehicle parked in the 1100 0f Taywood Road.

Sunday, Dec. 27

City of Englewood

Report 15-070926: Alyssa M. Dickess, 28, of Xenia, was charged with disorderly conduct by public intoxication. She was issued a court summons and released to a family member.

Report 15-071023: Rebecca M. Mitchell, 49, of Englewood, was charged with domestic violence. She was transported to the county jail.
