DAYTON — On Tuesday, March 22, the League of Women Voters of the Greater Dayton Area invites the public to a very special lunch event at the Dayton Woman’s Club at 225 N. Ludlow St. in downtown Dayton.
FBI Special Agent Angela Byers will be on hand to give an important update on the terrorism threat in our community.
“Our League works hard to educate the public about a broad range of topics related to civic life,” said Susan Hesselgesser, executive director of the LWVGDA. “Homegrown terrorism is one of the hottest topics around these days, and will likely play a big role in the upcoming presidential elections. When we had an opportunity to host an event on the subject, we jumped on it.”
Byers is the FBI Special Agent in Charge of the regional homegrown terrorism unit. Her territory covers 48 counties in Ohio and includes Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus.
“In addition to facilitating community conversations, the League also likes to spotlight women who hold leadership positions in their field. We found a real gem in Angela Byers,” said Hesselgesser.
Seating for this event is limited. Advance reservations and payment are required. Participants may pay either through PayPal at lwvdayton.org, or by mailing a check for $35 per person to 131 N. Ludlow St. Suite 1208, Dayton 45402.
