ENGLEWOOD — The Northmont Rotary Club learned from Amy Waltersheide about several new programs at the Englewood Kleptz YMCA.
Waltersheide, the YMCA Health and Wellness Director, discussed “Livestrong at the Y,” a program for cancer survivors. This 12 week program focusses on strength and endurance activities for cancer survivors. Underwritten by a grant from Grandview Hospital, the Englewood Kleptz YMCA is only the second in the area to offer this event.
Another activity, “Rock Steady,” is a boxing program for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Kleptz is the first YMCA in the area to offer this unique event, which is designed to help Parkinson’s patients with balance and coordination in a fun atmosphere.
The Northmont Rotary Club meets at noon each Tuesday at Good Samaritan North Health Center, 9000 N. Main St., Englewood.
