Residents needed to serve on boards

CLAYTON — The City of Clayton is now accepting letters of interest for openings on the Parks Advisory Commission, the Personnel Board of Review, and/or for other possible board/commission openings in the near future.

The Parks Advisory Commission is a policy advisory commission which makes recommendations to Council in regard to the acquisition, development, maintenance and operation of parks and recreation property and facilities. This Commission is continuous and consists of nine members appointed by Council. The members serve three year overlapping terms, and each member serves until his/her successor is appointed.

The Personnel Board of Review is responsible for hearing appeals filed in response to administrative determinations by employees in the classified service and are not subject to grievance and dispute resolution or arbitration provisions in collective bargaining agreements. The PBR consists of three (3) members appointed on an as needed basis. A list of interested residents will be kept on file with the City, and members will be appointed when an appeal is filed. Members will be given at least 21 days’ notice of the need for their service.

The city encourages residents to apply for one or both commissions or to just place your name on a list to be given consideration for future openings not yet identified. Please submit a letter of interest which includes any expertise, experience or knowledge that would be beneficial to the Commission and demonstrates knowledge of the City of Clayton and the community. Please clearly state which Board or Commission for which you are submitting a letter of interest.
