UNION — The Love Boat by Just Duets will be performing at Mill Ridge Village Retirement Community, 1000 Mill Ridge Circle, Union on Friday, October 21 at 1 p.m. This is a free program but RSVP is required to 937-832-6302.
Hop aboard the Love boat with Just Duets, Mary Knapke and Sherri Heidemann and enjoy love song favorites. This program is full of romantic and love songs, starting with “The Love Boat.” Knapke and Heidemann, Just Duets are leaders in the senior entertainment business. Tap your feet and sing along to big band favorites, love songs and much, much more. They will wow you with their vocal abilities and entertain you with beloved hit songs from the 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond.
A new Diabetic Support Group is starting at Mill Ridge Village Retirement Community October 11. This group will meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome this free support group. Attend the October 11 meeting at 6 p.m. for a cooking demonstration and a nutrition message along with free on-site nutrition risk assessments.
Connie Laux, M.Ed, LD will be leading this group. Connie is the Registered Dietitian at Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville. Results of the nutrition risk assessments will be discussed for future group topics. The assessments will be done on-site. Please RSVP to the Mill Ridge office at 832-6302. First Topic: Food For Thought- Improving Brain Functions, blood sugar control, blood pressure and weight management through better food choices.
Western Square Dancing with the Grand Squares Dance Club are being held at Mill Ridge Village Retirement Community, 1000 Mill Ridge Circle, Union on Wednesday nights from 7-9 p.m. There is a fee. These dances are sponsored by The Grand Squares & The Miami Valley Caller Association. The Wednesday night dances are for everyone. The lessons are open for everyone to join in, no experience required. Many people have done no dancing at all in the past, and that’s OK. You should come each Wednesday evening. It’s a lot of fun. The public is invited and welcome. Bring your friends and family. Dancing reduces stress and you can make life-long friends. You can exercise both your mind and body while having fun. No RSVP is required, just show up.
