DAYTON — CareSource, a nonprofit, Ohio-based health plan recently announced Jon Allison joined its leadership core team as executive vice president, external affairs.
Allison, a veteran executive with experience leading high-profile initiatives will direct the rapidly growing company’s external affairs. He will provide strategic leadership to the CareSource health insurance marketplace and Medicare products offered outside Ohio, marketing and communications, government affairs and the company’s new Life Services initiative.

Allison, former partner with the law firm Carpenter, Lipps & Leland LLP has more than 20 years of experience in legislative and regulatory affairs, policy development, public relations and law. Allison founded and led the Ohio statewide Medicaid expansion coalition of more than 150 diverse organizations. From 2003 -2006, he was the Chief of Staff and senior adviser for Ohio Governor Bob Taft.
Allison earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Maryville College in Tennessee and a juris doctor from the Ohio State University College of Law. He is active in his community, having served on the board of directors for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and is a former gubernatorial appointee to the Ohio Lottery Commission.
