CLAYTON — Salem Church of God will offer an 8 a.m. worship service on Easter in addition to its regular 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. gatherings.
“The 8 a.m. service is new this year to provide additional seating and an option for early risers,” said David Boots, worship arts pastor at Salem.
The three identical Easter services will include the Salem choir and orchestra, special music and a teaching by Lead Pastor Steve Southards, who will begin a sermon series titled, “Because He Lives,” which will continue on Sundays through May 7.
Meanwhile, Salem’s Holy Week schedule begins with a special community Good Friday service at 7 p.m. on April 14, featuring the Salem choir, praise band, special music and additional artistic elements.
The “Because He Lives” series schedule:

* April 23, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. – “All Fear Is Gone”
* April 30, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. – “He Holds the Future”
