MIDDLETOWN — The Lady Bolts golf team wrapped up their season last Thursday by competing in the Southwest District Golf Tournament at Weatherwax Golf Course.
The weather warmed up nicely after a chilly morning start as the Lady Bolts teed off at 9:10 a.m.
Northmont came in 11th with a score of 405 playing on the Meadows and Valley View courses.
Three teams in the 12 team tournament qualified for state. Centerville took first place with a score of 321 with Springboro at 330 and Sycamore with a score of 340.
Northmont was led by senior Emma Saltsman with a score of 94. She shot a 43 on the Meadows course and a 51 on the Valley View course. Senior Sarah Advakov finished with a 99 with a 49 and a 50. Sophomore Amara Tipple finished at 104 with scores of 54 and 50. Senior Britney Hansard carded a 108 with scores of 52 and 56 while sophomore Hannah Toth finished with a 119 with a 64 and a 55.
“We did well. We are happy with the outcome and the season,” said Northmont Assistant Coach Mike Hagens, who handled the coaching duties with Head Coach Vivian Bibler sidelined with health issues.
“Emma Saltsman didn’t shoot her best but she played well,” Hagens stated. “The course conditions were fantastic. It was little chilly in the morning but by afternoon it was beautiful. Our three seniors had a good time and we had two sophomores that played who will be looking to try to qualify for next year’s district tournament.”
