VANDALIA — Butler extended its winning streak to 11 in a row for the girls varsity volleyball team with a win Monday over Northmont in four sets, 25-20, 25-16, 23-25 and 25-17.
“We weren’t having our best day on the court against Butler but the girls fought hard,” said Northmont Coach S. Jim Smith. “We had more serving errors and passing errors than normal. The Aviators were a good team so we needed to bring our best to the gym to beat them.”
Northmont was led by Ryanne Stoffel with 22 assists, Shay Heath with 5 blocks, Isabel Stoffel with 26 digs, Cecelia Stebel and Kara Brown with nine kills each.
Butler’s Zoie Franklin had 13 kills, two aces, 11 digs and two blocks in the victory. Alicia Smith had 44 assists and two aces. Grace Cope added 17 kills and two blocks. Sarah Swarts had 11 digs, Willow Knight nine digs and Alyssa Burley had three blocks.
