ENGLEWOOD — At 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, the Good Samaritan Hospital North Emergency Center at 9000 N. Main St., Englewood will begin accepting patients with minor to severe injuries and conditions and will offer the same physicians and equipment as a standard hospital emergency department.
“The delivery model for health care is most certainly changing—and changing at a very fast pace. Freestanding emergency centers fill a critical need for patients as an access point to receive care,” stated Eloise Broner, president and CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital. “Working closely with our local EMS squads, we will be able to provide a better, faster way to receive emergency care for our northern communities.”
The North Emergency Center will offer full-service, 24-hour emergency care staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians from Good Samaritan Hospital. If an overnight stay is needed, hospitalization at Good Samaritan Hospital or a hospital best suited to the patient’s needs is easily accessible. Patients also have access to Premier Health’s full array of emergency services including the only Level 1 Trauma Center, the Premier Health TeleStroke Network, and transport via CareFlight Air and Mobile services. A Mobile Intensive Care Unit will remain on site 24/7.
“When you are in need of emergency medical care you want service you trust and you want it close to home,” remarked Jim Pancoast, president & CEO of Premier Health. “With this expansion of services at Good Samaritan North Health Center, we will be able to provide more accessibility and convenience for patients and their families.”
Construction costs were approximately $28 million. A projected 80 new jobs will be potentially added over the first few years of operation. The new space was designed by Andrews Architects and constructed by Messer Construction Company.
