CLAYTON — The 8th annual ‘Salem Church of God Car & Truck Show’ is set for Saturday, July 9, on the church campus in Clayton.
The show, which is free for spectators, is from noon until 3 p.m. Vehicle registration is 10 a.m.-noon, with an entry fee of $10 plus a nonperishable food item donation to benefit local food pantries. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 entries.
Awards, which will be presented at 3 p.m., will go to the top 50 vehicles, as judged by show participants. Specialty awards (best paint, best engine, best interior, etc.) will be independently judged.
The car and truck show will follow the Salem ‘Desert Dash 5K,’ also on July 9, which begins with a kids dash at 8 a.m. and the 5K event at 8:30 a.m. Early registration (by June 22) is $20, or $15 without a T-shirt. Registration after June 22 is $25, and a T-shirt is not guaranteed.
Participants can sign up online at www.alliancerunning.com or pick up a registration form at Salem Church of God. There also will be registration as well as packet pick-up at Salem (Door No. 4) from 7 – 8:15 a.m. on the day of the 5K.
