ENGLEWOOD — Entertainment at the 43rd annual Englewood Art Festival promises to be another major attraction for this week-end event scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 13 and 14 at Centennial Park.
Saturday’s entertainment begins with vocalist Lauren Kelly singing a mixture of eras and genres for all ages.
“I do oldies, jazz, Top 40, Alternative, 80s and more,” Kelly stated.
The Northmont High School Marching Band will perform in concert at noon followed by DeBray, a dynamic husband and wife musical duo. Ray plays piano, guitar, bass guitar, a 1911 cornet and bongos and sings anything from Frank Sinatra to Elvis. Deb plays piano, guitar, bass guitar, ukulele and bongos and sings anything from Loretta Lynn to Karen Carpenter. DeBray appeals to all ages and this duo’s harmonies keeps them in high demand.
Saturday’s evening concert begins at 5 p.m. and features Razzamatazz & Jazz. Lynn Fullerton, leader, states that the group has over 18 years of experience performing your favorite jazz music. “Each one of us loves to play our instruments and this love transcends to our music, the happiest music in the world…Jazz…”
Meg Renee (Megan Osman), singer/songwriter kicks off Sunday’s entertainment at 11 a.m. Meg says, “Music is my passion in life especially writing music, and I like to share my passion with others.” Blues, folk, country and indie are her genres. Englewood’s Civic Band will take the bandstand at 1 p.m. This 40 member group participates at various concerts around the area.
Closing the festival entertainment at 3 p.m. will be Systems Go, a popular music combo from the United States Air Force Band of Flight. Stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base this group provides a top-notch high energy show the whole family will enjoy. Led by MSgt. Tom Shriver, this versatile group has performed with many celebrities including Bob Hope, Stevie Wonder, Ricky Skaggs, and Lee Greenwood, and has performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Dollywood and major air shows throughout the country.
