ENGLEWOOD — Northmont Band Boosters will once again host its annual Ice Cream Social on Sunday, August 21 from 4-7 p.m. at Centennial Park in Englewood.
The event is free and open to the public.
Activities for the afternoon will include musical entertainment provided by the Northmont Marching Band, performances by the Color Guard, a cake walk, a cake auction, face painting, a large selection of food items and of course, ice cream by JD’s Old Fashioned Custard.
As an added bonus, this year the ice cream social will feature a flavor of Custard available nowhere else. The Northmont Band Boosters have partnered with JD’s Old Fashioned Frozen Custard to create a totally new flavor called ‘Oom PawPaw.’ This new flavor is derived from the pawpaw which is native to Ohio. Fun Fact: the pawpaw became the state fruit in 2009.
Oom PawPaw will be available at the Northmont Band Concession stand at home football games and other events. The Ice Cream Social will be the first chance to sample this new flavor.
