ENGLEWOOD — A man who fired a shot over police on Commons Avenue in Englewood turned the gun himself after a 20 minute standoff early Friday afternoon.
Police had been looking for the subject, who lived in a nearby apartment complex across the street from where the incident took place. A resident reported a suspicious in the area and police located the man at the end of Commons Avenue.
After the man discharged his weapon over officers they did not return fire but continued to implore the man to put his weapon down. Instead, he turned the gun on himself. Officially the man’s condition is not known.
Police will be releasing a statement about the incident later today.
