ENGLEWOOD — Value Added Packaging, a custom corrugated box manufacturer in located at 44 Lau Parkway, Englewood, had a record year in 2016 with a 23 percent increase in sales, hitting an all-time high of $7.8 million by year end and added 18 additional members to its team.
With the continued steady growth, VAP is now looking to expand its already 85,000 square foot facility to add an additional 40,000 to 50,000 square feet or find a local facility of at least 120,000 square feet. That is still being determined. They will also look to invest in advanced equipment and work to begin a second shift.

Value Added Packing is looking not only to grow in capacity but also to emphasize the “value add” service oriented segment of its business through problem solving and solution finding within their customers facility, lowering overall total cost through design, forward thinking, process improvements, as well as offering in house or onsite vendor management and design and build of assembly packs specific to the needs of their customers.

VAP has grown steadily in the last 20 years since its inception. In 1997, VAP Inc. was founded by Jarod and Mari Wenrick. VAP operated in a 3,000 square foot leased warehouse in Dayton. In 2000, VAP purchased land in Englewood and built a new 20,000 square foot facility. In 2004, VAP expanded operations by adding new equipment and an additional 20,000 square feet to the facility, which created more jobs. In 2007/2008, VAP acquired more business and sales continued to grow. From 2010 to 2012, VAP continued to exceed its goals and create new jobs for the community.
Through the dedication of its team members to achieve a vision as a leading packaging supplier with lowest total cost savings, VAP again expanded the summer of 2013. Team VAP added 45,000 square feet of additional space to their current location. This space allowed for operations to be consolidated all under one roof, increasing efficiencies, creating jobs and adding value to customers.
