ENGLEWOOD — Thousands of area residents Saturday attended the Grand Opening of the new United Dairy Farmers store at 501 W. National Road to take advantage of special sale prices and to visit the new location.
Thousands of gallons of milk were sold for 99 cents each during the Grand Opening event, which was held between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. As customers took milk off the cooler shelves, workers inside the cooler replenished the stock. Milk and ice cream products were unloaded from two refrigerated trucks parked behind the store and brought in to restock shelves as needed as people took full advantage of the sale prices.
People lined up at the ice cream counter to purchases single dip ice cream cones at 49 cents each. Outside employees grilled jumbo hot dogs that were sold for 49 cents.
Inside customers were offered free pieces of pizza as they waited in line to check out. Other specials included free 16 ounce samples of fresh brewed coffee, Little Debbie chocolate cupcakes, sample size ice cream cones, half gallons of UDF orange juice for 99 cents and Frito Lay potato chips for $1.49, as well as other great specials.
UDF had extra employees working during the day-long event to keep things running smoothly as a steady stream of customers flowed through the doors all day.
