Englewood man indictedfor child sexual assault

DAYTON – Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr. announced Tuesday that 66‐year-old Dwight E. Gehring, of Englewood, has been indicted for inappropriate sexual assault on a minor (State vs Dwight E. Gehring, 2015‐CR‐1470).

On May 10 the defendant was captured on a home security surveillance system sexually assaulting a 5‐year‐old female victim.

Today, the defendant was indicted on:

• One count of Rape of a victim under 10 years of age

• Two counts of Gross Sexual Imposition of a victim under 13 years of age

If convicted, the defendant could face a sentence of life in prison.

Gehring is currently in custody at the Montgomery County Jail, being held on a $500,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on June 18 at 8:30 a.m.
